Hi guys!! Today you will see all the products I used up in December 2018. There are some things for my body and things for my face, but all of them are from the skin care part of my cosmetics stash. I rarely use up make up products, except for mascaras.
And here they are.
Cherry Blossom Hand Cream – L’Occitane
I got the first tube of this cream as a gift from one of my fellow bloggers who isn’t blogging anymore. And I loved it ever since. I think this is my third tube I used up and I mainly use it when I’m swatching nail polishes. It moisturizes my hands beautifully, but what makes it special for swatching purposes is, it mattifies the skin on my hands a bit. So they don’t look shiny even though I applied a hand cream before application. It’s an absolute winner when it comes to that effect. And let’s not forget how great it smells. So this is one of the rare products on my forever repurchase list.
PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion – CeraVe
I bought this cream because I saw the hype on the internet and one of the Slovenian bloggers recommended it. And I gave it a try, because it is quite cheap for the amount you get. I bought mine on iHerb. It’s out of stock at the moment, but I hope not forever. I already have a new one at home and am using it, so I don’t need a new one right now, but in the future I hope it gets back in stock.
It’s main ingredient is glycerin, which I don’t mind, but it also contains more essential ingredients such as ceramides, niacinamid and hyaluronic acid. They help restore the protective skin barrier, but I feel when I use tretinoin this cream isn’t enough for that. I have to include other products to restore and keep my barrier healthy. So for the price you pay I think this product is of great value, other than that, I don’t think it’s worth such a hype. But since I don’t have any good morning moisturizes on my wish list at the moment, I will keep using and repurchasing this one.
CLINICAL Ceramide-Enriched Firming Moisturizer – Paula’s Choice
I wanted to love this one soooo much, because it is full of ceramides and would have been great for my skin in the evening. But it sadly contains retinol and I didn’t know that when I started using it. It stung my skin every time I applied it, but didn’t know why. Well, then I went and read the INCI and saw retinol in there and knew immediately what was going on. I didn’t want to use another active in my routine, because I already had too many. I just wanted a moisturizer that would nourish and calm my skin. But it didn’t do that. I did use up 6 testers, but I decided not to purchase the full sized product.
So, I want a moisurizer with ceramides for the evening, that’s the main reason I tested this one, so if you have any great suggestions, please let me know in the comments bellow.
CALM Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – Paula’s Choice
I have a version for normal to oily/combinational skin. It is a mineral sunscreen with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as active ingredients.
I absolutely love this sunscreen. I can put on the amount required and I wont look white. It goes beautifully on its own or under make up, under bb and cc creams and it doesn’t flake off. And somehow it evens out my skin a bit, even though this cream doesn’t contain any tinted particles.
ZEN RITUALS Light Shower Butter* – Afrodita Cosmetics
I love this creamy shower butter. It has a gentle scent and it nourishes my skin while I am in the shower.
But the packaging is very off. I had major problems getting everything out. Well I probably didn’t get it all out, so I will have to cut it in half. It will be really messy doing that in the shower. And I used it up fairly quickly, because it is very cream like and I had to use a lot of the product to spread it all over my body. I hope the Afrodita team will change the packaging, maybe in to a pump or something, because this tube is not ok. And I hope they make a bigger packaging too. It works great for the first few uses, but then it gets a real nightmare getting it out. So the packaging is the main reason I won’t repurchase it, otherwise I would, because I love the product itself.
Renaissance Gel Cleanser – Oskia
I use it as a second step cleanser in the evening and as the only cleanser in the morning. It has gel like consistency that melts between the fingers and you can easily spread it all over your face. It has a pump and I usually use one and a half pump for my face and neck. It’s just right amount to evenly spread it out and to massage the skin a bit. Then I wash it off with warm water.
I love the pampering effect it has for my skin. It’s quite expensive for a cleansing product, but it lasts really long. I think the big packaging lasted me for almost a year.
This is it. All the products from December 2018. And I hope I will have more of this type of posts here in 2019. I made a list of all the products I own and decided to use them all up before purchasing new ones. I felt a bit overwhelmed with all the creams and shower gels laying around, so until I use them up nothing new for me 🙂 .
Thank you for reading and see you in the next post! xoxo
