Hi guys!! How were your Holidays? I wish you all the best in 2018, I hope you are doing well, I hope you are all healthy and I hope you are where you want to be. This is my first post of 2018 and I decided to show you what I uncovered in my Asos Advent Calendar 2017, which I bought after very thorough consideration and comparison with other calendars. I think this one was worth every cent and I am very happy I bought it.
First I want to tell you it consisted of 5 make up items including brush and 19 skin and hair care products. I prefer skin care to make up products, so I was very happy to see it contained more from that range. I am becoming a skin care junkie, so all creams and shower gels and masks will come really handy. But I don’t mind to try a new make up product once in a while, so the amount here was perfect for me.
I already tried some of the products, so there will also be a mini review included with those products. But those that I haven’t tried yet, you will get only the name and the photo.
Now let’s start with the contents of Asos Advent Calendar 2017.
Day 1: Starskin Dreamkiss Plumping & Hydrating
I have just used this today. The mask is really oversized, at least for my lips. But I do like the effect. It gives you a really small plumping feeling and there is a bit of tingling present when you have it on your lips. But the thing I liked the most was how well my lips were nourished. They tend to get really dry and flakey, but this made them so smooth. I think I need more of these 😀 .
Day 2: Caudalíe Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
Day 3: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
Day 4: Pureology Hydrate Shampoo
Day 5: Cowshed Lippy Cow Natural Lip Balm
This balm has a consistency of a cream at a first glance, but once you put it onto your lips, it turns in to oil. I thought it was going to end up all around my lips, but surprisingly it didn’t. It stayed on my lips the whole time and nourished them well. It can be compared to my favourite Nuxe Rêve de Miel, but Nuxe is still slightly better. I like the tube that Cowshed has, which makes the application a lot easier and cleaner. So I’ve been using it when I’m around and about, and Nuxe when I’m at home.
Day 6: Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum
Day 7: Lottie London Arch Rival Volume Powder
Day 8: Korres Santorini Vine Showergel
Day 9: St. Tropez Instant Tan Gloss
Day 10: REN Clarimatte T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel
Day 11: Rodial Stem Cell Magic Gel
Day 12: 111SKIN Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask
I already used this mask and I was a bit disappointed by it. Maybe I was expecting too much, because the price is quite steep.
It is a gel mask. I found the gel to be harder to apply to your skin then sheet masks. This gel wasn’t fitted for my face at all. It was horrible around the eyes, nose and mouth, I had to adjust it several times during those 20 minutes I wore the mask.
And when it comes to the essence there wasn’t enough of it on the mask if you ask me. A lot of it stayed in the package, which I found out later on when I applied the remaining essence on my face. The essence itself wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t impressed by it either. So in my opinion you get better sheet masks for a lower price.
Day 13: Thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
Day 14: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
Day 15: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
I haven’t tried it yet, but I did swap the one I got in my Asos Advent Calendar 2017 (SMLC 20 Copenhagen) with the one that Tamara from CherryColors got. So now I have SMLC 02 Stockholm, which is much more of my colour. Copenhagen is way to dark for me and I would look like a vampire with it. So Tamara kindly offered to give me hers in exchange. Thank you Tamara!!
Day 16: Carmex Lip Balm
I will use this one once I empty the Cowshed one. I don’t like having to many lip balms open at the same time. But once I will try it, I will write the review here.
Day 17: Codage Scrubbing Cream
Day 18: Nude by Nature Natural Glow Loose Bronzer
Day 19: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
Day 20: Alpha-H Liquid Gold
Day 21: The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
Day 22: OSKIA Renaissance Mask
I was waiting for this one the whole month. The packaging isn’t the best, because it leaked a bit, so that was a bit disappointing. But there is enough mask in there to last me for quite a while. It is not a full size product, but still, the amount I used when I applied it on my face was so small. I can’t believe how little you need to apply it.
I used it two times already. The first time I left it on my face for about ten minutes and the second time I had it on for more than twenty minutes. It worked well and it left my skin soooooo soft. I am very satesfied with it, because at the same time it also nourished my skin, so I didn’t have any problems afterwards.
Day 23: Luxie Beauty Small Tapered Blending Brush
Day 24: Foreo Luna Play
Day 25: 20% Off Code on Asos Beauty and Grooming – Asos Advent Calendar 2017
So this is it. What do you think? Was it worth 55£? I think it was and so much more. I am not the kind of person who would love surprises too much, because I often get too excited and then disappointed. So I checked all the calendars I could and then went for this one. I don’t like the outer look so much, although it is very photogenic I might add. I hope the next year it will be more christmasy and festive. But that’t really my only gripe when it comes to Asos Advent Calendar 2017.
Oh, and once I try other products I haven’t yet, I will add the reviews here.
Did you buy any calendar yourself and which one? Were you satisfied? Please let me know, because I am already thinking about next, well actually this year’s. I wonder what brands will have for us this time 😀 .
Have a lovely January, I know I will 😉 . And thank you for reading and following me!! xoxo
