With the usage of Normaderm line, which I wrote about in this post, I found the formulations for my acne prone skin. But I felt like I needed to add something more in to my routine, something to pamper and nourish the skin. Not just to keep it safe from acne. And so I encountered The Ordinary brand. I was on the hunt for Hyaluronic Acid and I also got interested in Niacinamid. The first one hydrates the skin and the second one purifies pores and prevents them from clogging. Which was exactly what I was looking for.
And after a month of usage I noticed I was lacking something more occlusive to lock in hyaluronic acid and I wanted to make my skin more plump. So I decided to try rose hip seed oil. Exactly then the team from Melvita Slovenija contacted me and asked me if I wanted to try their Pulpe De Rose Plumping Radiance Duo. After seeing it contains rose hip seed oil and it is noncomedogenic, I was thrilled to try it. And I must say that the combination of all these products feels amazing on my skin.
Micelle Solution (pH around 5)- Bioderma Sebium
This product is the first step of my cleansing routine in the evening. I take off the make up with it and then I rinse it off. I usually use this one, but I also have the pink one. And I feel like the pink one is too drying for my skin.
My tip here: even if it says on the bottle that the micelar water isn’t supposed to be rinsed off, you do it anyway. Because it might dry out your skin, because it is a cleanser.
Clean Up Cleansing Foam* (pH around 6) – Afrodita Cosmetics
I use this in the morning and evening. In the morning as my only cleansing step and in the evening as the second step of cleansing, to make sure all the make up is removed.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% – The Ordinary
I used to apply this after the toner, but now I do it before, right after the cleansing and it feels way better. It does tend to dry your skin out, so if your skin type is dry then I recommend using it only as a spot treatment. I use it on my forehead, my nose, lower chick, jaw and chin. It’s where my pores need to be treated and where blackheads tend to be. I use it in the evening regularly and in the morning only when I don’t wear makeup. Because it tends to roll of the skin when I apply foundation and it doesn’t look pretty.
Clean Up Hydro Tonic* (pH around 5) – Afrodita Cosmetics
I use this toner to create a pH balance and to freshen up the skin. I use it morning and evening.
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 – The Ordinary
I tap it on every morning and evening and I lock it before it dries with eliksir. Hyaluronic acid can keep 1000 times it’s weight in water, so it’s great with hydrating your skin. However if the water molecules aren’t sealed to your skin and are vaporising, hyaluronic acid will start to take the water from your skin thus dehydrating your skin. So be careful and always use something to lock it in.
Plumping Radiance Duo* – Melvita Pulpe De Rose
It’s an incredibly gentle bi-phase formula as the name suggests. You have a water phase and an oil phase and you have to mix them before you lightly massage the product into the skin. Damask rose floral water provides revitalizing properties, while Damask rose oil offers regenerating benefits. And the rose hip seed oil quickly absorbs into the skin, replenishing moisture and creating a protective barrier on the skin to help prevent dehydration.
So I’ve been using this duo as a protective barrier to seal the water and hyaluronic acid into my skin. And it makes my skin very plump. And you know what the best part is. It doesn’t clog my pores. It doesn’t make me break out and I am so happy about that. I tried many oils or oil based products and they all made me break out, but not this one. I’ve been using it for a month and I feel like my skin is smoother and plumper. And it also gives me a dewy look, so if you are not into that, you might not like it.
Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream – Caudalíe Vine[Activ]
I was on a hunt for an eye cream, because I felt like the skin around my eyes needed something extra. And my fellow blogger Gabi recommended this cream from Caudalíe. I’ve only been using it for a week or so, but I can say it is energizing. I feel like my skin is lifted (it’s just a feeling, it is not actually lifted) and my drooping eyelids aren’t so drooping anymore. I feel like they are more firm and not so sagging. It’s just a feeling again, my eyelids didn’t magically get lifted actually, I just feel less weight on my eyes. Which I am very happy about.
Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care/Detox Purifying Care – Vichy Normaderm
Well I wrote a whole post about my experience with Vichy Normaderm line, so you can read there more. I’ll just say here that I use Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care in the morning and Detox Purifying Care in the evening.
Mattifying Face Fluid Dry Touch SPF 30 – Vichy Idéal Soleil
And since the summer is coming I have also added sunscreen in to my morning routine. I currently use Vichy dry touch with SPF 30, but I will be swithing for SPF 50 when we go on our vacation. And the best part of this sunscreen is that it doesn’t clog my pores.
All pH was tested by me 😉 Have a good one! xoxo
