Hi guys!! Today I am going to talk about facial cleansers I’m currently using.
Cleanser has been a part of my facial routine for a very long time, 15 years at least. And I was very lucky, because I found my almost perfect one back when I started using them. I feel like the right cleanser is one of the most important parts of my skin care routine, because it can make all the difference. The feeling of well purified skin is priceless and only then I can add the rest of the care and nourish my skin well.
Balea Waschgel for Normal & Mixed Skin
For the longest of time my go to cleanser was this one from Balea. It cleaned my skin perfectly, but it left it a bit dry. Well, the feeling was dry and tight, buit it wasn’t actually dry. I applied the toner and cream I was using and the skin was back to normal. So after all those years of using Balea Waschgel I decided to try something else, something more nourishing.
And I went with L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil. You can read all about how that didn’t turn out so good in this link. And after I was done with this oil, I decided to stick with my Balea again, because it worked so well for so many years. But you know, I was curious, I read so many great reviews about other nourishing cleansing products that I had to give them a try.
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel
So this was the first one I decided to try out. And don’t let the gel word in the name fool you, because once you put it on your skin it melts in to an oil. Once I saw that, I got very cautious, because I didn’t want my skin to break out again as it did with L’Occitane oil. And it didn’t, there were some spots emerging from time to time, but not as much as with that Shea oil. So I persisted on using it. I must say, that I’ve never had as plump skin as when I used this cleanser. It was so soft and well nourished. However, since there were spots present, I only use it in the mornings, occasionally. The feeling of the skin it leaves behind is so amazing, that I can’t just stop using it.
Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser
As the name suggests, it is creamy and again, well nourishing, so I was a bit worried when I bought it. But I was so desperate to try it, since there were so many great reviews about it. And people with blemishes reported it worked well on their skin. So I tried it and I was a bit disappointed. It gave me blemishes, but it didn’t do anything else for my skin. So now I use it only every now and then to use it all up.
Afrodita Professional Clean Up Cleansing Foam*
And my favourite of the bunch. I got this one at one of the bloggers events I attended and I am nearly through with this bottle, so I am going to buy another one. It is a foam cleanser and it is everything I have been looking for. It’s gentle, it cleanses well and it nourishes my skin. So I use it in the mornings and evenings.
I bought Oskia and Antipodes on Black Friday, so they were on a discount. Otherwise they are quite expensive. I won’t repurchase Antipodes again, but I might repurchase the Oskia gel if it will be on a discount again. Balea is a Dm brand, so it can be bought in their stores. And Afrodita foam can be bought only on their web site, because it is a part of the Professional line, which isn’t available in drug stores.
So I will keep using Balea and Afrodita, Oskia maybe and Antipodes won’t be a part of my repurchase.
What do you use as your facial cleansers and what do you find works best for your skin?
Thanks for reading! xoxo
