First off I need to tell you that during winter I am constantly cold. So it’s crucial for me to find things that keep me warm. And it doesn’t matter, outside or inside I am cold everywhere. And it’s been like this since I can remember. I’ve always had cold hands unless I’m in a very warm place and dressed warm. So if you’re going to meet me outside during winter and we shake hands by any chance, I’m going to have cold hands for certain 🙂 .
And please don’t let me start with cold feet 😀 . Well, that’s another thing I try to keep warm. And I am being more and more successful with it.
But now, just the basics that keep me warm and cozy during winter.
Long padded Jacket
This is something I can’t get by without. It needs to be pleasant and comfortable and it needs to keep my body’s heat well. Aside from being good looking too. But the main thing here is that it’s long, so it covers my behind and the upper part of my legs. That way I get the most coverage I can.
Along with a long jacket goes a pair of warm boots. In my teenage period I constantly wore Dr Martens Original 8-Eye Boots (I didn’t have them on my feet only in summer :D). But they weren’t warm at all. Well, I didn’t care about that then, but I do now. So I buy myself lined boots that are comfortable and warm. And these are both.
Scarf, Knit Hat & Gloves
When I was younger I always wore mittens, but now I prefer regular gloves. They are more comfortable to wear and when you have them on, it’s easier to do stuff with them. Mittens are kind of clumsy and also my fingers start to sweat in them, so they get cold. So I prefer them separated in gloves and when I keep my hands in pockets, they are warm. Otherwise no glove or mitten can keep my hands warm.
Sweater, Blanket & Knitted Socks
And when I’m at home, I like to wear a cozy sweater, knitted socks and if I’m still cold, I take a blanket with me around the apartment (for example when I sit at the table and do stuff for my blog).Don’t get me wrong, we have 23°C (73,4°F) in our home, so it’s warm. But apparently not enough for me. And a good hot cup of tee is always great to warm me up too. I’m drinking one right now.
A Warm Shower Or A Bath
I always take time to take a shower. I do the whole sauna thing in our bathroom, but I so need this. I can really feel how my muscles relax and get warm and I finally manage to warm the whole body up, preferably with a hot water. Skin on my front side goes all red and that’s probably not good (the redness wears off after a couple of minutes), but it feels so good and calming.
So is there anyone else who is freezing all the time during winter? What are your ways that keep you warm?
