Hi everyone!! Today I have a very special mani for you. It might not be so special to you, because there are so many recreations of this pattern, but to me it is very special. It was my first water marble and I can tell you I was so scared of the mess and all the clean up. Even though this water marble can’t get as messy as those made with more vivid colours. But as you can see I made it and with very little mess :).
Here it is.
The first thing I did here was applying one coat of white base polish Essie – Blanc. Then I applied Cuticle Defender from Kaleidoscope around the nail area to protect my skin from the mess I thought I was going to make :).
Then I mixed the white polish and the grey one (Essie – Over The Edge) to make a light grey or more dark white mixture. I sponged it on to make it a bit more interesting. Then I tried to draw the marble lines with the striping brush, but that wasn’t successful, so I sponged over the darker white mixture and then I decided to do the water marble.
I did it with warm water, a drop or two of Essie – Over The Edge and a hair spray to make cracks in the polish that spread over the water. And then I just dipped my finger in to the pattern and water and hoped it will look ok. And to my surprise it did.
To make the pattern more natural I sponged on a white polish (a very thin and dry layer) here and there. And that was it. Well I removed the Cuticle Defender, did the clean up and sealed the whole thing with Essie – Good To Go.
The pattern on the thumb is my favourite of the bunch, so you get to see two photos of it. I really like how it looks cracked, just like the real marble.
So what do you think? And do you have any suggestions on how to make the white marble nail art in any other way? Please share them with me, because I would like to try those too if they exist.
Thank you for reading and see you in the next post. xoxo
