Hi guys!! Today I have another spring collection, another gorgeous spring collection that is also a part of summer collection. This one is from Cirque Colors and all the shades are added in to the Metropolis Collection, so it is a Spring/Summer 2016 Metropolis Collection*. Annie, the creator, has decided that shades from this collection will be released on seasonal bases rather than monthly to better accommodate their international stockists. And this is a good news for us too, because we don’t have to wait for every month to see every shade :). So thumbs up for this decision.
And as you can see there are many pastels in this collection, so it’s needless to say that I fell in love the minute I saw it on the web *_*. Literally! I said to myself, well I will need a few shades, at least the pastels (I am on a no buy mission lately, so these were making it hard for me). And then as if she heard me, Annie asked me if I wanted to swatch and review them. Of course, I said :). I was very excited to see them in person and they didn’t disappoint ♥.
Here they are, one by one.
Don’t Forget the Cannoli – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
It’s an understated ivory. A very gorgeous shade and it looks perfect on my skin tone.
The formula is a bit thick, but I applied the polish with no problems. It needed two coats for full opacity and it was a bit lumpy/streaky (I don’t even know how to describe it, not even in my own language), but it evened out itself beautifully.
Whitney – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
I love love this polish. It’s a light/pastel dusty pink taupe. So gorgeous and again perfect for my skin tone. I love this kind of nudes, they are so complimentary.
It has a perfect formula. It was opaque in two easy coats.
Meet Me in Montauk – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
It’s a pale light blue or maybe it’s more turquoise, another gorgeous pastel shade. It’s bright and muted at the same time, so beautiful!
It was opaque in two coats and considering this is such a light colour it had a great formula. It was a bit streaky, but it evened out beautifully and the application was easy.
Key to Gramercy – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
This is a light sage green and again, I hope you don’t get bored, but this colours are all so gorgeous to me and I will be repeating myself a lot :). Perfect colour that looks so amazing on nails, I think it actually comes to life once it’s on the nails. And again perfect for my skin tone.
It was opaque in two coats, the first one was normal and the second was a bit lumpy (not too much). This way I got a perfect coverage and a totally even polish on the nails.
Lox and Sable – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
This is my elder daughter’s favourite. Of course, a pink polish, but it actually isn’t just pink, it’s a light peachy pink. So beautiful.
The application here was the same as with the previous one. The second coat was a bit lumpy. It needed two coats for full opacity and it totally evened out once it was dry.
Fire Island – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
The name couldn’t be more perfect because your nails look they’re on fire. It’s a fiery red/orange shade that makes your nails come to life. If you feel down, this is the polish to put on your nails, because it is such a pick-me-up shade.
This one has a bit of a jelly touch. It’s a creme polish, but it’s squishy. The application was effortless and it needed two coats for full opacity.
Mermaid Parade – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
A bright teal that leans more to green than in photos. It is a bit greener in person. And again, I loved it on my nails.
I write notes in my note book when I do the swatches and the only thing I wrote here was WAW! So that means another easy application. And it was opaque in two coats.
Rhapsody in Blue – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
This shade was previously released as Santorini. I don’t own Santorini so I can’t give you any comparisons. It’s a cobalt blue, a very bright blue polish and it’s going to be perfect in the summer.
Again, an amazing formula that needed two coats to reach full opacity.
Chelsea Girl – Cirque Colors Spring/Summer 2016
Oh my! This polish is so amazing!! It looks like dusty purple mauve and in person it leans more on the mauve side than on the purple as photos suggest. And I love love love it!!!
The formula was again perfect and it was opaque in two coats.
So these are all the shades from this collection. What do you think? At first I wanted to divide them into two groups, first was going to be the pastels and the second the brights. And I was going to say that the pastels were more suited for the spring and the brights for the summer. But as I was swatching them it hit me that they are all perfect for both seasons. The brights are great in the spring because they make you happy in this cloudy and rainy weather and the pastels look perfect on a tanned skin :).
And I have to mention the shinny formula. The polish looks very glossy and it dries pretty fast. I was amazed by that fact.
Which is your favourite? Mine are all! If you want to buy these shades you can order them on their web page (the launching date is the 4th of March) or at one of their international stockists. They are all over the world and I know some of them ship internationally.
Thank you for reading and have fun!
