Hi guys!! How are you doing? It’s Sunday and I feel so tired 🙁 For a few nights now our daughters seem to be sleeping badly and the result of course was that we were all sleeping badly. I swear I could fall asleep sitting in the chair behind a desk. I hope these kind of nights end soon and everything gets back to normal. But enough about my sleeping deprivation, let’s get to the mani.
I’ve been wanting to do a splatter mani for quite some time now, I just didn’t have the courage to face the potential mess this nail art can cause. So I delayed it as much as I could. But now I finally decided to do it no matter what. And the mess wasn’t that bad, actually there was barely any mess to be honest.
I started with the white canvas, Essie – Blanc. I did two coats and one coat of Essie – Good To Go. After it was dry I did diagonal dry brushing with three different colours, yellow O.P.I – I Just Can’t Cope-Acabana, coral Essie – Sunday Funday and red Essie – Really Red.
And then the real work began. Firstly I protected my skin around the nails with Cuticle Deffender from Kaleidoscope. Then I took a straw, I think it was a bit narrower than the usual ones. I did a few tries before I did it on my nails and I wasn’t successful. So I started shortening the straw and in the end it was about 5 cm (2 in) long and I think it was perfect. I put the straw in to the black polish, Essie – Licorice, twisted it a bit to pick up the polish (but not too much) and then I did a fast blow, like I was trying to say a P letter through a straw. I hope I was clear enough in explaining the whole process. If I wasn’t just ask me what you want to know in the comments bellow.
And in the en I sealed the whole thing with Essie – Gel Setter.
What do you think? I really love the outcome, every nail is totally different.
Thank you for reading and see you in the next post! Have a great rest of the Weekend!
