Pantone Colour Of The Year 2016 – Rose Quartz & Serenity – Gradient Manicure

Hi everybody!! A week or so ago Pantone announced the colour of the year 2016 and the moment I saw it/them, I just knew I had to do this gradient. For the first time they announced the blending of two shades, Rose Quartz & Serenity. I immediately had in my mind two polishes, Essie – Peak Show (here is the review) and Essie – Virgin Snow, but when I compared the blue shade to Serenity it just didn’t seem right. So I dug out Essie – Salt Water Happy (the review) and this one was just right!

Here is my mani.

Maybe the intensity of both colours isn’t as good as Pantone’s, but they are the closest shades I have in my stash. After putting on the base coat I applied two coats of Peak Show and then one coat of Essie – Good To Go to make it dry fast. After 15 min I started doing the gradient. I sponged on a few layers of Salt Water Happy and a bit of Peak Show to make the colour shift more natural. Then I applied one coat of Essie – Gel Setter. I thought that was it, but then I realised that the mani was kind of dull so I decided to do some stamping.

I did the stamping with MoYou London Holy Shapes Plate Collection 8 and Kaleidoscope – 02 White stamping nail polish. And I had a bit of a problem with this polish, it just didn’t want to do its job.

What do you think of my mani and how do you feel about the new Pantone Colour of the Year 2016 shades? I must say that I love them, they are definitely better than this years Marsala.

Thank you for reading and see you in next post!
