Hi everyone! How are you doing? So from crazy hot the weather has changed into the April’s raining. I hope it stops soon and we can have a normal warm summer August!
Today I will post my mani that I did for piCture pOlish Nail Art Quarterly 1. But firstly I am gong to tell you more about it. They have announced this contest about a month ago and anyone who wanted to participate was able to send them email and telling them why they wanted to be a part of this. And then as I understood they chose about 100 people (they had that many spots open) to participate. And luckily one of them was me :). Jules from piCture pOlish contacted me via email and that is how all began. They set up some rules for us to follow. Here are a few. First was the theme: FLOWER POWER. We had to use three PP shades and not more and a white and black acrylic paint for details. And of course we weren’t allowed to use any other brand. The nail art had to be drawn free hand, no help of stamping plates, vinyls or anything like that. The brushes were allowed and dotting tools. And we were able to do the gradients with sponges. So there were some strict rules about it, but that was fine with me, because that meant that everyone had the same equipment.
And when you finally made your art, you had to take a photo of your mani and the three polishes that you used, so that they could see that you really used their polish. Here is the photo I sent them via email.
Now this is the mani I painted free hand. I must say I am impressed with the result, because I never thought I had it in me, and by this I mean that I could paint something like that on my nails with my bare hands :).
And this photo bellow was the photo that I put on my Instagram and tagged it with a single hashtag as requested, and the tag was #ppnailartquarterly1.
I used the black acrylic paint to draw the details and then I used the stripping brush to paint the flowers and the butterflies. I think these two butterflies meeting on the flowers and falling in love with each other represent Flower Power theme pretty well.
Now here are the three polishes that I used for piCture pOlish Nail Art Quarterly 1. Paris, Cyan and Wisteria. They are all gorgeous and bright enough for Flower Power crazy colour mix.
What do you think?
Oh, and I almost forgot about the awards. For the 3. place you get to spend AUD $150 in their shop, for the second place you get AUD $300 and the first place, you can spend AUD $500 or you can create a collaboration shade with PP. I think they are amazing, especially the collaboration shade!
I keep my fingers crossed and hope to win this :D!
