Hi everyone!! How is the week going so far? Mine is super, because I have been swatching these beauties from Essie Cashmere Matte Collection 2015. Here are all together in one place.
I swatched them from the lightest shade to the darkest one, because the darker ones might stained the cuticles. All six colours were gorgeous. Here are all swatched in one photo and then you can see all of them one by one swatched and reviewed.
Wrap Me Up – Essie Cashmere Matte 2015
This is the first one that I chose to do. It is a soft neutral pink.
I applied three coats, but it still didn’t help to even it out. And it was also sheer. As you can see in photos there are visible brush strokes that I wanted to even out by applying three coats. The first coat was very sheer, but it went on smoothly. The other two were a bit tricky. I tried to apply thin coats, but didn’t manage to do it. Because I think that three really thin or maybe even four thin coats would do the trick. In my opinion this one is so hard to apply because it dries really fast. Too fast for it to have time to even out. That aside I think it is amazing colour and I looved it on my nails.
All Eyes On Nudes – Essie Cashmere Matte 2015
This is camel-hued neutral tone. It needed two coats to reach full opacity and it was easier to apply. Brush strokes are not that visible here and it wasn’t drying that fast. I liked this one on my nails and I liked it better in person. Because in photos my hands looked a little red, but that wasn’t the case in person.
Just Stitched – Essie Cashmere Matte 2015
This one is warm pearly-plush pink. It had an easy application. I used three coats for full opacity. There were some minor brush strokes visible, but they didn’t bother me. It also had turquoise shimmer and it was visible when the polish was still matte. And I liked it a lot on my nails.
But when I added top coat the shimmer really popped out. Beautiful!!
Comfy In Cashmere – Essie Cashmere Matte 2015
It is a blend of mauve and deep velvet undertones. It was easy to apply, I did two and on some nails three coats. It wasn’t streaky but there were some visible brush strokes, minor ones that didn’t bother me. This one was my least favourite colour.
The shimmer was visible, but subtle. It was better with the top coat. And I loooved it much better with the top coat.
Coat Couture – Essie Cashmere Matte 2015
This is a deep purple shimmer over compelling greig. It is my favourite of the collection. The shimmer is popping out even when matte. There were no brush strokes visible in person, I don’t know where the camera picked them up.
I did two coats and there is really not much to talk about it, because this one was perfect!
And the shimmer is even better with the top coat. Beautiful!
Spun In Luxe – Essie Cashmere Matte 2015
Matte blue-black polish, well it’s actually black polish with blue shimmer in it. It was easy to apply, no brush strokes. It needed two coats for full opacity, but on my ring finger I managed to do only one.
It was completely black when it was matte, but when I added top coat, waw. That blue shimmer popped out and it looked like it had another dimension, really amazing!
Overall I think the key with these polishes is that you don’t overload the brush. You mustn’t have too much polish on it. Better less than too much, because too much of it can translate into brush strokes. If you can manage three or maybe four thin layers than these are some easy polishes to use for you.
And the matte finish. It is gorgeous! Smooth, really smooth.
Would I buy them again? Yes I would!
So what do you think about these? Do you own them? Do you like the formula and the matte finish?
