Hi guys!! How are you doing? I hope you’re doing better than me. I am ill. I had a fever and some tummy issues :(. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to paint my nails for the challenge, cause I have never done gradient before in my life. I have seen on YouTube what a mess can there be and I just wasn’t in the mood for that. In the end I decided to try it and if the result wasn’t going to be ok, then I just wouldn’t write the post. Well, here is the result.
I chose two colours. Green/turquoise and blue. Picture Polish – Honey Moon and Picture Polish – Cyan. I thought they would go great together and create a subtle gradient.
But, when I started to sponge the polishes on my nails, they just wouldn’t stick to my nails. I think they were too sheer or something. Or maybe I should have applied a white polish first and then sponge on the coloured ones. I don’t know, but I didn’t have the energy to retry it.
So I decided to do it in my own way. Firstly I painted all my nails with two coats of Honey Moon. Then I took this wide brush, I have no idea what it is called. It’s the one in the picture bellow.
And with that brush I carefully applied Cyan on my ring and middle finger. I tried to do a slow transition between the colours and I think I have done a good job. It can be seen that this is not a perfect gradient, but still, I have tried to do my best.
You can see some brush strokes in this macro shot, but from a distance they are not that visible.
And with all the truble and low energy I had I think I have done a good job and this still qualifies as gradient :). What do you think?
