Hello hello!! I wish you a one happy year 2015. May it be filled with joy and interesting stuff and if not I wish you the strength to overcome anything that comes in your way. Have fun and be good.
For the first month of a new year I decided to challenge myself a little. I saw this Totally Doable I Have A Life Challenge on Instagram by @californails. And I think I can do a new mani every three days. Well, we’ll see.
The Challenge begins with “fresh”. First thing that comes to mind is fresh cold winter air full of snowflakes. So I did my nails that way. Again. I know, I repeat myself, but I changed everything, well except the snowflakes. And here they are.
They look totally different than my other snowflake mani.
As a base I took my new polish from Picture Polish – White Wedding. It was gorgeous. Only a bit sheer. I had to put on three coats. But I didn’t mind, cause it was applying perfectly. And it was full of silver and I think white shimmer. I wanted to have a polish like this one for a very long time. And now I finally do have it.
As you can see I did snowflakes in different colours. I used white (Essie – Blanc), silver (Essie – Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low) and black (Essie – Licorice) polish. I wanted to give a little depth to my nails by doing layers of snowflakes. I don’t know whether I succeeded or not, but I like the outcome.
The white snowflakes are not that visible, but you can see them in this macro shot. The silver ones give nails just the right sparkle that snow has got. And the black snowflakes are there for the contrast. I like it.
What about you? Are you doing any challenges yourself? Will you join me for this month?
Edit: I have forgotten to write about the stamping of snowflakes. I used MoYou London plates from their Festive Collection No. 1 and 2.
